Building a Collection: Colour

As a non-sewer, when I began thinking about fabric design I thought I could create a range of interesting one-off fabric designs.  The more I learn, the more I realise collections are important, so I am working on my first one.

Choices about colour are among the first design decisions. Guided by the Spring bushland, I opted for complementary colours with the bright golds and yellows of the Button Everlasting daisy flowers alongside bright and deep blues,  the salmon pink of the inner fallen bark next to the soft mauve and grey of the Milkmaid flowers.

The image below shows 3 of my 6 designs in ‘Spring Bushland”. I’m at a point where I’m looking for feedback, so if you’re a sewer, a quilter, you do applique, or any other fabric craft, let me know what you think of the choices I’ve made.
